Welcome to the Farm

Nestled in a valley between two mountains, our 20-acre farm is located in the beautiful state of Maryland, but just minutes from Virginia and West Virginia.  A magical place where the Shenandoah meets the Potomac and the Appalachian trail meanders through lush deciduous forests.  Welcome to Pleasant Valley!

HI I'M HEATHER

I'm a regenerative farmer, vitalist herbalist, and student nutritionist. I have spent the last 20 years of my life learning about the magic of herbs and the importance of nutrition. I have a certificate in advanced clinical herbalism through the Vitalist Herbal Practitioner Program at the School of Evolutionary Herbalism and I am currently in the process of getting a Master's of Science in Nutrition & Integrative Health with a Herbal Medicine Concentration through Maryland University of Integrative Health. Whether I’m watering the garden, fermenting vegetables, making cheese, milking cows, baking sourdough, or foraging, most of my life revolves around growing, raising, preserving, cooking, and eating food! I am so excited to share handcrafted products fresh from our farm kitchen with your family!

I am blessed to have the support of my amazing family. My husband, Pete, who takes care of many of the chores and heavy lifting around the farm. My youngest daughter, who is the cookie baker extraordinaire and helps in the bakery. My youngest son, who loves working with animals and works tirelessly to care for our many four-legged friends on the farm, and my two adult kids, who are now off at the University of Maryland - go Terps!
